About Martini Lutheran Preschool & Church

Martini Lutheran Church has an established history of 135 year
in Southern Baltimore. We are a Christ-centered community
gathered around God's Word and Sacraments. Martini Lutheran
Church has made a commitment to serve the community by
starting Martini Lutheran Preschool.

What We Believe

Our Purpose:

• to provide a caring environment that meets the needs of each child 
• to value children for their wonder and curiosity, their perspectives, their ability to do meaningful work, and their ability to play 
• to teach children in a loving Christ-centered environment so that each child can develop socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually 
• to provide support and nurture for the parents and family of each child 

Our Philosophy:

We believe young children learn best about our world through experimentation and exploration. Each child is a unique and special gift from God, and we encourage the development of this individuality under the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Early childhood education at Martini involves the child, family, and the Martini community. 
 

Our Goals at Martini Lutheran Preschool:

• to provide experience with the wonders of God's world and His love 
• to nurture children's natural excitement for exploring, discovering, and learning 
• to help children see themselves as special creations of God, developing their God-given gifts to become competent individuals and group workers 
• to foster enthusiasm for lifelong learning 
• to reflect the teaching of Jesus through tender care of children 

Meeting the Developmental Needs of Your Child

Intellectually

To encourage enthusiasm for learning and exploring, develop competence in mastering new skills, stimulate curiosity, creativity, imagination, and involve the child in a basic readiness program for future academic learning.

Socially and Emotionally

To encourage participation in group activities, developing a sense of security and belonging, promoting sharing with others, encouraging courtesy, kindness, and helpfulness.

Spiritually

To provide a daily circle time with songs and Bible stories, giving each child an awareness of God's love. 

Physically

To provide experiences which will develop small and large motor muscle coordination and skills and promote good health habits.
